Is A TSH Level Of 3 And Elevated T4 Values A Concern?

I have asked you some questions before. Eight weeks ago i was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid with a TSH of eleven and T4 on the low side of normal. Two weeks ago i had blood tests which showed a TSH of 3 and a higher T4 value. However, my symptoms are still the same with no improvements. All of the other regular blood tests are normal. Have you any suggestions? Thank you.
You should check T3 level too.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome and thank you for asking!
I have gone carefully through your concern.
To judge abot the thyroid function, TSH, FT4 and FT 3 level are the main indicators.
If they are within the normal ranges than we say that the under active is corrected.
There are too many patients that have your complain, that the symptoms do persist even though the TSH is corrected.
Many studies are done to add the dose of levothyroxine despite the TSH is corrected, in order to improve the symptoms but without result.
There are rare cases in whom the TSH and FT 4 are corrected but the FT 3 remains low, here addinf T3 in the therapy may help improving the symptoms.
So the only thing you can do is to check Ft3 level, it it persist low you can add T3 in the therapy.
Hope i was helpful.
Kind regards,
