
Is A Benign Nevus A Cause For Concern?

Question: I have had a mole on my back for over 10 years. I recently keep looking at it and from the information i see online I have been concerned about whether the mole is normal looking or is cancerous ... please advise as best you can based on your experience and the picture attached.

You are worried that a mole on your back maybe abnormal and want us to look at it. The image you attached shows a mole which is oval in size and elevated with uniform coloration throughout the mole. This type of mole is very common and is very benign. The chances of this mole being cancerous is almost non-existent.
I can reassure you that this is a normal mole and you have nothing to worry about

Thank for your reply ... it started to look like there were a couple dark specs and white almost pimply like spots on top of it it - so you don't think those aspects are a cause for concern?
