Question: On my first CT Scan doctor recommended Chemo-rediotherapy, but he said we need another CT scan to finalise the treatment, on the second CT scan my doctor wants to start with 2 doses of chemo therapy first.
Please explain if everything is going in the right directions.

Also, please let me know if will be able to continue my exercise like lifting 8 kg dumbells and skipping rope. What is best diet for me during this treatment.

The doctor also advised for a bone test, is it really required?

Thanks

Brief Answer:
Chemoradiotherapy is the treatment of choice

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I have gone through your reports.

You are suffering from nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

Chemoradiotherapy is the treatment of choice in your case.

Both chemotherapy and radiotherapy should be given simultaneously

No bone scan is required.

You cannot do exercises like lifting 8 kg dumbbell weights but you can skip rope.

Best diet during treatment is beverages such as diluted fruit juice, milk, buttermilk , lemonade, ginger ale or sports drinks.

Choose desserts that aren't as sweet, such as yogurt, custard, pumpkin pie, fruit, baked fruit, fruit with cottage cheese, fruit crumble, plain doughnuts, or XXXXXXX crackers

Rice, bananas cooked apples and dry toast are good for health during this period

Thank you for the detailed explanation. According to my doctor, after 2 cycles of chemotherapy (tomorrow and 21st day), another CT scan will be done, and then he probabaly will start chemoradiotherapy.

How many cycles do you I need for chemo first? Would only radiotherapy would be enough after completing chemotherapy?
Thanks
