Is A Cyst On The Ovary A Symptom Of Ovarian Cancer?
Question: My sister went in for a check up and has high HCG levels. 2/16= 11 and the 26 it was 12. They did two ultrasounds and she is not pregnant. She has a cyst on her ovary, spleen and something in her abdomen?
Could this be ovarian Cancer? Or Bowel Cancer. She is 47 years old

I understand your concerns.
This could be cancer.

She has had several ultrasounds with her OB/GYN who states there are no changes and believes it to be a cyst. Her CA-125 in December was 39.2 and in Feb was 38.9. This has been occurring since December. Now they are waiting until May to do any follow up. More labs and U/S. My concern though the CA-125 may be within normal limits that her beta HCG levels are elevated and they have not explained the mass on her spleen. I do not feel they should wait. I am a nurse (her sister) of course. But why take the chance. Why not just biopsy it now? If there is even the slightest chance of it being Cancerous waiting could be a death sentence. What is your opinion?
Fearfull for my sister.
p.s. We have Cancer in the family. Cervical and Breast
