Question: Hi, i started HCg diet yesterday, i took a pregnancy test and came out positive. I only took one injection of 175 Ui. I waited 24 hours and did the urine test again and came out positive again. Is it possible with only one injection a false positive or am I pregnant? Any advice. Thanks

Hi,

The HCG diet can cause false positive results and this can occur with one injection in some persons.

The only way to definitively determine if you are truly pregnant would be to stop taking the shots and repeat the pregnancy test in a few days or have imaging such as ultrasound.
If you are using contraception and use it regularly and consistently then the chance of conception is low.
Pregnancy can be detected by HCG by day 11 to 14, if possible conception occurred at or before this time, then it can be detected.

The pregnancy test itself cannot say if a positive result is due to the injection or pregnancy, it would depend on your history of contraception, sexual activity and discontinuing the shot and retesting, if you want to find out for sure
