Is A High Heart Rate Of 115 A Cause For Concern?

Further control and exams
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Welcome to HCM and thank you for your question. I am Dr. Meriton. I understand your concern.
Normal heart rate, standardized in the people worldwide, is 60-100 beats per minutes. A heart rate of 115/min is not harmful for a small period of time, but if it is a constant finding, it mandates drug therapy. Now, the first aim is to depict if this is a regular rhythm or an irregular one. I would recommend a cardiac check-up first, which includes an EKG, to assess the electrical system of the heart, and an echocardiogram, to evaluate the size, motility and function of the heart chambers and valves. If further examinations are needed, it is up to your consulting cardiologist. Keep in mind that there are physiological changes, such as physical activity, psychological stress, or hormonal changes in a day, that cause the heart rate to increase. This does not consist a cardiac emergency, but these exams should be performed as soon as possible. This would be my recommendation, if you were my patient.
I hope I was helpful with my answer. If you have follow-up questions, I would be happy to help.
Best regards,
Dr. Meriton
