Is A Itchy Rash On Scrotum A Symptom Of Herpes?

Question: I got a rash on my scrotum probably from using a public toilet. It itches, then I scratch off the itch, and now the skin peeled off and it looks like herpes pictures I saw online, but it doesn't look as bad, only like a regular rash. I used Clorox wipes and then baby wipes and then Vaseline. this developed in the past two days. i also have some type of athletes foot fungus for 3 and 1/2 years that itches after I shower.

Brief Answer:
This is intertrigo and not herpes infection
Detailed Answer:
I have reviewed the attached photographs.
According to me it is intertrigo which is inflammation of the body folds. It is not herpes infection.
I would recommend you to keep the area as dry as possible, wear cotton underwear and avoid strenuous exercise.
Besides this in such cases I recommend my patients to apply corticosteroids like Clobetasol Propionate cream on the affected area twice daily for 7-10 days.
For itching I recommend them to take antihistaminics like tablet Chlorpheniramine 4mg once or twice daily depending on the intensity of itching.
The steroidal creams are prescription drugs and you need to see the doctor in person to get them.
This should help in resolving the rash.
Wish you speedy recovery.
