Is A Negative HIV 1 RNA Test Result At 13 Weeks Conclusive?

No need for future tests....
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
It would have been better if you had described the nature of exposure. Nevertheless, I was able to get this detail through your earlier discussions. Based on those details, I feel you are all fine and there is no need for future tests.
Details of my answer are based on these aspects:
1. Though unprotected sexual intercourse has definite risks of HIV, cumulative risks from a single unprotected sexual intercourse is not very significant. As described by other doctor chances of infection from it is 1 in 2000 cases. The risk ratio is absolutely nil if your partner had valid proof to prove her HIV negativity. Should you have the contact details of the partner, you might ask for her lab reports or you could sponsor her test and get her tested.
Let me repeat, negative reports of HIV tests on her should remove all your fears of HIV infection.
2. Though I am not a big fan of oral quick swab tests, this test has equivalent specificity which is close to 99.98%. This means at more than 12 weeks, chances of it turning positive is less than 0.02%.
3. HIV PCR technique involving either HIV RNA or DNA is very effective in ruling out HIV in as early as 2 weeks. So there are very less reasons to NOT trust the first test.
Therefore in the nutshell, I am fine with you test results. You can put HIV thoughts to rest.
