Is A New Mole On Heel Of A 7 Year Old A Cause For Concern?
Question: My 7 year old has a new mole on his heel. He is fair skinned and does not have many other moles and freckles. Should I be concerned?
Brief Answer:
Moles are normally appearing by age and not worrisome...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Can you please provide a picture of the mole of the heel of your boy?
Can you also tell if he is having pain? burning? or any other symptom locally?
Usually, moles are normally appearing on the child's skin and they are not worrisome. They will continue to appear by passing of years and this is still not worrisome.
Looking forward to have the picture of the new mole on your child's heel!

This is the mole on his right heel.
He does not have any pain that I am aware of, nor does he have any other symptoms. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Make sure he has not been pricked or injured locally...
Detailed Answer:
Hi back,
Thank you for providing the requested photo.
From what I have seen, the mole you are referring seems to be like he has got hit or pricked by any sharp object. Now, it is under healing process.
However, if he can't remember to get that place pricked, and if the then, if I was his caring doctor would advise to get the mole evaluated by dermatologist and get it further examined by a dermatoscope.
I still think there is nothing worrisome although I asked to get further dermatological examinations.
All the best!
