Is A Persistent Small Red Patch On The Upper Right Leg A Concern?

Question: About 3 weeks ago a small red patch appeared on my upper right leg. The patch was rectangular in shape and was about 6 cm by 4 cm. It did not itch, was not swollen, and caused me no pain. Gradually over the next few days the shape and color of the patch changed from rectangular and red to circular and pale red. Now it has a diameter of about 12 cm and the color has remained a pale red -- still no pain or swelling. Should I be concerned and, if so, what should I do about it?
Brief Answer:
Photograph required
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks to the query.
It might be an unnoticed bleed in skin called as purpura.
Such bleeds are common and harmless.
Usually these subside within a month.
I would like to see a photograph of the involved area.
This will help me in giving a closer diagnosis.
Waiting for your response.
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Try cortisone
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the follow up and photograph.
Sorry for delay in reply.
It is looking like purpura with mild dryness of skin.
I treat such cases with a mild steroid cream like cortisone twice daily for a week.
It is safe and effective.
You can try this.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.
