Is A Red Spot In The Sclera Of The Eye After Accidentally Touching The Eye With A Comb A Serious Concern?

Question: the edge of my comb made contact with the sclera of my eye . There immediately formed a red spot which has enlarged to be about half centimetre long and a few millimetres wide. Clearly some kind of abrasion has formed . I am due to leave for my holiday day after tomorrow which doesn't leave time to see an eye specialist . At the moment there is no real noticeable sensation in the eye.
Brief Answer:
No treatment required.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
This is likely to be a subconjunctival hemorrhage. This has occurred due to the trauma. It will resolve in a week's time on its own. You can put the antibiotics drop, three times a day but do not put Netildex drop as that contains steroids.
Presently the issue will only be cosmetic. The resolution can be delayed if you are taking aspirin orally.
Do get back to me in case of any further query in this regard.
Take care.
