Brief Answer:
Information

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

It is completely normal if you see a normal pink color and moist mucosa in the vaginal vestibule and vulva (the labia majora and labia minora). Sometimes, babies have a physiologic behavior like masturbation. It is completely normal and in baby-girls it usually starts around 9-10 months of age. It does not cause any health risk, physical or mental harm to the baby.

Please, carefully check the area for any lacerations, abrasions, bruises, redness, discharge or bleeding. If you see any of these, it is not normal and you should contact your doctor. There might be an infection or other pathologic conditions.

I hope the above information will be helpful for you. Please, feel free to ask me if there is anything else you need to know.

Thank you.
