Question: I have had hemroids forever. I was having a problem after a tough bowel movement and I noticed for a couple of days they were bothering me. So I used hemmroid cream on them and most of the problem went away. I had one small area that appears swollen and dark. should I be concerned?

The swollen and dark area represents a blood clot and will be resolved over weeks. There is nothing to be concerned about. Be relaxed and all will slowly return to normal. Most importantly, fruits, vegetables, fibers, fluids and regular exercise will help keep bowels healthy and prevent crisis.
