Is A Splint Sufficient At This Stage Of Bruxism For A While And The Rear Molars Have Been Ground Down?
Question: Hi,
I have had bruxism for a while and the rear molars have been ground down.
I am experiencing pain in the upper left molar, I have attached a photo showing the molar. Is it necessary to treat this molar and what could be the option to treat it. Is a splint sufficient at this stage?

Brief Answer:
Get an x ray done.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for the query.
Well, pain in tooth can be related to exposed nerves either due to decay or tooth wear due to continuous grinding or bruxism..
So first of all get an x ray done so that the exact cause of the pain can be ruled out..
Accordingly treatment can be advised..

Thank you Dr. XXXXXXX
I note that my teeth sometimes return to feeling more normal after a while. Are they likely healing themselves?
Would an X-ray be able to determine if the nerves are being touched or whether the exposed area is getting close to the nerves?
Thank you,
Regards.
