Is A Strict Fruit Diet Necessary During Pregnancy?

My issue is, that i recently read that the pregnant woman should regularly have fruits as fruits give provide you with vitamin C which helps you absorbing Iron and if iron is not properly absorbed the baby's brain may not develop properly. Recently in her blood test, her hemoglobin was lesser than required as per the doctor. Now i am really worried. Is it really important so mch to have fruits regularly during whole pregnancy, Should we be worried because of this fact that she didn't have fruits during 12th to 31st week on a regular basis. Does lack of fruit diet during those crucial days may affect baby's brain . I am really worried about this. Please help me what should be my immediate action.
Just to add, in these recent tests her sugar was also bit increased, thyroid also slightly increased, for which doctor has given the medicine. Is this all happening because of lack of fruit diet. Please guide me
Treatment according to hemoglobin levels
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the query.
I understand your concern.
Adequate iron supplementation is essential for the good development of baby and to avoid anemia.
But this requirement can be fulfilled not only by taking fruits but also by taking green leafy vegetables, beans, eggs, red meat, fish, iron supplements etc.
Usually most of the baby brain development process occurs in first trimester.
In later pregnancy, because of hemodilution and increasing needs of the baby, mother can have anemia.
Thyroid hormonal abnormalities can also contribute to this.
Now the steps you have to follow are:
-Strict control of blood sugar levels and normal thyroid profile by using medicines.
-Adjusting the dose of iron supplements according to the hemoglobin value with your doctor's advice. In case of mild anemia, the dose of iron tablets can be increased. ln moderate anemia, injectable iron supplements may needed.
-Continuing healthy diet and other supplements.
-Regular antenatal checkups and ultrasound examinations to monitor the well being of the baby.
Take care.

Mild anemia
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Usually in females hemoglobin levels up to 12g/dl of hemoglobin can be considered as normal.
Below 12g/dl to 10g/dl can be considered as mild anemia.
Usually in mild anemia, the possibility of serious side effects are less.
Taking iron supplements and iron rich foods can help in improving the hemoglobin levels.
Periodic checkup of hemoglobin levels can help adjusting iron supplements dosage.
She needs strict blood sugar control and regular checking of blood sugar levels.
Take care.
