Is A Tetanus Shot Required To Prevent An Infection After Using A Rusty Razor?
Question: Hi I used a razor that I later noticed had a tad bit of rust on the side. Should I be worried? Do I need a tetanus shot?
Brief Answer:
Only if received a cut that is significant.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
This would depend on whether you were cut by the blades (if there is an obvious significant cut due to the razor) and also on the last time that you received a tetanus shot.
if you received a shot within the last 10 years then you would not need another shot as yet unless there was a very dirty wound or burn (acc to CDC guidelines).
If there is only a slight cut on the skin or you received a shot within the last 10 years, then according to the present guidelines, you would not need a tetanus shot.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions.

Can it cause any other problem other than tetanus?
Also me and my boyfriend developed dry flakey skin on our intimates but I strongly feel it’s because after every intercourse we wash ourselves down with soap and water. Even more than 5 times a day. Am I wrong ?

Brief Answer:
Would need to be assessed by his doctor.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
If he is experiencing redness and burning then he may have an infection present.
This can only be diagnosed by him visiting his doctor because it would require a physical examination and also investigations eg urine analysis or blood tests (it would depend on what the doctor finds on examination).
Based on the findings, he would be treated with the appropriate antibiotic or antifungal if it is a fungal infection.
It, unfortunately, would not be possible to diagnose the exact nature of any infection without examination of the person involved.
Hope I have answered your query.
