Is Abdominal Cramps After An Intrauterine Insemination A Sign Of Implantation?
Question: Hello,
I am actively trying to conceive, and had an IUI on January 5th. This is my second IUI. This time, I have definitely felt a lot of cramping around 8, 9 and 10 days past ovulation/IUI. I understand that this is possibly a positive sign of possibly implantation. Is it safe to have intercourse during the two week wait, and more specifically, the days right around possible implantation? I have done so, and can't help but worry. I do still feel the cramping though, which I want to take as a positive sign. I have found conflicting information about having intercourse during the two week wait, so wanted to ask an expert.

Brief Answer:
No problem
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand your concerns about having intercourse.
Having sexual intercourse does not interfere with implantation and does not decrease chances of pregnancy. I don't see any reason to worry.
Moreover cramping is not related to implantation alone.
Let me know if you need anymore help.
Regards,
No problem

Thank you so much for your fast response. Can you tell me more about the cramping? It started on my 8th day past ovulation, and was quite intense that whole day. I have felt it again on days 9 and 10, but less intense and not all day.
Brief Answer:
Delayed ovulation
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Cramping is unlikely to be due to delayed ovulation from ovulation from smaller follicles. These smaller follicles sometimes rupture later and cause cramping.
