Is Air Travelling Risky For An Infant Suffering From RSV Bronchiolitis?
Question: My son has been diagnosed with rsv..it has been 36 hours since left hospital, most of the day he sounds and acts fine but when we give him his meds he coughs and sounds awful for about 30 minutes..dr prescribed nebulizer and orapred for him..he is 4 months old and we r supposed to fly from XXXXXXX to XXXXXXX tomorrow..should we fly or wait and get a rental car to drive home
Brief Answer:
Better to drive home
Detailed Answer:
Hi....it is better to drive home.
He seems to just recovering from a viral RSV Bronchiolitis.
Closed space in aircraft and pressure difference might make him uncomfortable.
I do not think oral Steroids are required for RSV Bronchiolitis. I suggest you stop Steroids.
Better to drive home than fly.
