Is Alcohol Consumption Advisable While Having Bladder Infection?
Question: I had 3 bladder infections in 3 months but doing ok right now - gone about 34 days without an infection - was dying for a beer or a half of glass of wine. Would either one bother my bladder - the wine is merlot and the beer is light beer? I drink 4 oz a day of cold press cranberry juice organic plus 2 cranberry tablets a day and 1,500 mg of vitamin C a day plus 6 glasses at least a day of water. But through all this I had no wine or beer but just dying for a half a glass of wine. thank you. Just want to know if it can irritate it either a half glass of beer or wine.
Brief Answer:
Yes, you can have a glass of wine/beer!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I see how concerned and careful you are about your bladder health. Wine and beer, in moderation, should have no impact on bladder infections. So you can have some if you so desire.
As it goes, excess alcohol, i.e. either wine/beer is not good for health, always keep your consumption to small volumes.
I hope this helps. I wish you well.
Feel free to follow up with me if need be.
