Is Alcohol Consumption While On Tri-Sprintec Safe?
Question: Is it possible to bleed when on tri- sprintic and drinking alcohol? I missed a dose so I had two birth control pills and then drank alcohol, can that cause bleeding? I was also drunk so not sure if that's what may have caused bleeding.
Brief Answer:
Alcohol reduces pill effect
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand your concerns about bleeding.
Efficacy of Tri-Sprintec pills is reduced with alcohol. Alcohol makes these pills less effective and hence the action may be less than that is needed. Therefore you have had your bleeding.
I suggest you consider this bleeding as your periods and use additional double contraception like condom as a precaution.
You can start with new pack of pills from now considering this bleeding as your periods.
Let me know if you need anymore help.

Yes but I have been on the pill before and missed a dose before too but never experienced bleeding. It was like a red/brown bleeding. I am 2 weeks in to the pills and just bled that night when I missed the dose which was minor bleeding. The next day was normal. The last time I had my period was October 9th so isn't it too soon to bleed?
Brief Answer:
This is periods
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
It is soon to bleed. But there is no other reason for bleeding at this stage. This has to be your periods.
Your hormonal withdrawal was sooner and hence bleeding ( periods earlier).
It is known to occur in women who missed one pill. More over efficacy of next dose was reduced by alcohol.
Therefore this is your periods and nothing else.
Let me know if you need anymore help.
