Is Alcohol Intake Advisable After An Episode Of Pancreatitis?

Question: Gud Morn DR. In 2012 my lipase serum was increased normal range 73-393 but mine was 647ul , so i stooped to take alcohol and it is normal till date , i started to take RED Wine one or two glass with the permission of my doctor, now from 28-1-2014 my stomach was up set and regularly i was facing the problem of loose stool and frequency was four times and some uneasiness and pain in stomach ,i tested my blood and ultrasound and endoscopy, everything is normal on 28-1-2014 DR.gave me 1.RAzo-D OD 2.tab Oflin 200 twise and econorm OD and on 14-6-14 he chnaged 1.Razo-D OD 2.Tab NIzonide O twise and econorm OD but i was not well and go to Alchemist Panchukla whre DR.gave me 1Tab Sibofix 400 thirse and T.Razo20 twise for 14 days but i not get any relief and now i am taking Cap Econorm OD and Tab ibset Od and i also advise to cheque my stool test in stool Dr. Reported Round Worm Eggs 0-1-2 and pus cells 20-25-30 then Dr Suggested me Albendazole 400 weekly for one week , now i again tested my stool after three weeks now OVA is nil and pus cells 8-10-12 and i am taking Econorm and ibset OD now my stool is normal but i have some pain in my stomach at morning and very weakness in body but my weight is still same ,pls suggest following. 1. Can i take Red wine or whisky or Not???? 2. Econorm and Ibset is right medicine and how many days i should take it??? 3. why i am not feeling normal ????? 4.Should i go for colonoscopy ???? any other suggestions thanks XXXX

Brief Answer: Please see the details Detailed Answer: Hello! Thanks for putting your query in HCM. I am a Gastroenterologist (DM). Ans 1: I don't think it will be advisable to take alcohol in any form for you as you have one episode of pancreatitis earlier and if you continue with that there is high chance of recurrence Ans 2: Both are right medicines. Ibset is to be continued for 6months and econorm will be sufficient for one month Ans 3:It may all be due to acid peptic disease for which you should continue with Tab Razo and should avoid tea and fatty meals Ans 4: As of now there is no need of colonoscopy Further you may add some multivitamins to your prescription like capsule zevit which I found very useful in my patients.
