Is An HCG Trigger Shot Safe Post An LH Surge?

Question: Hi. I am doing a natural iui cycle. My follicle was 20 mm yesterday morning (had no lh surge that morning) was told to do a trigger shot last night and to have iui tomorrow morning (36 hours later). Right before I did the hcg trigger last night, I tested and saw I had a surge. Do I still do the iui tomorrow or push it up to today? Does the hcg trigger shot override the lh surge I had?

Brief Answer:
Trigger will not make difference now

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns.

Since you had surge now, trigger is not required and is not going to make difference. It does not override your surgery.

Ovulation is going to occur approximately36 hours after trigger and hence I don't see any reason to prepone IUI.Get IUI done tomorrow as per plan.

Let me know if you need any more help.

Regards
