Question: Hi there, I have recently had a scan which shows I have a Endometrial polyp :size 8mm x 7mm x 5mm. Is this serious? Many thanks
Brief Answer:
Bleeding / miscarriage / infertility
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
1) Endometrial polyp is known to cause excessive duration and amount of heavy bleeding. I see you bleed for 7 days in your cycle which is more.
2) Endometrial polyps are known to cause miscarriage / infertility in women trying for pregnancy.
3) Otherwise it is not associated with anything serious.
4) It can be removed by a small operative procedure called hysteroscopy.
5) After removing polyp by hysteroscopy, it will be sent to pathology laboratory for ruling out cancerous changes ( very rare).
Let me know if you need anymore help.
