Is An Indentation On Shaft Of The Penis Be Caused From Prone Masturbation?

default
Posted on Fri, 13 May 2016
Question: can one develop an indentation on the shaft of the penis from prone masturbation or putting pressure on the penis? I have slight indentation or groove on the left side on the top of the shaft of my penis, just below the head. This is not peyronies. my full erections are straight although my penis does curve slightly while semi-erect. The groove gets more noticeable when semi-erect, but smooths out a little bit when full erect. However when fully erect one can still see and feel the grooved or depressed area and it becomes slightly red. What could this be and what is causing it?

Brief Answer:
no need to worry

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

Thanks for writing to us. I can understand your concern.

You have posted clear photographs with proper history and it is clear that there is no need to worry at all.

After looking of photographs casually it is difficult to say that there is any problem as groove is very small.

One possibility is that slight indentation may be anatomically present before and you have noticed later on. During erection due to stretching of tissue (tunica albugenia) this indentation is modified. Due to blood supply during erection it looks red.

And other possibility is it may be developed due to prone masturbation habit and stretching of the tissue (tunica albugenia). In that case also if there is no pain or no problem in erection, it is absolutely fine.

Slight curving of penis is absolutely normal even in erect position. When angle or curve is more than 25 degree then only it causes pain or difficulty in sex.

I would recommend avoiding prone masturbation and going for masturbation with hand also.

Hope I have answered your query, I will be happy to help further.

Thank you for your help. Will this every heal itself or will it remain this way? Is there anything I can do (besides avoiding prone masturbation) to help this?

Brief Answer:
no need of any intervention

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for follow up.

It is not an injury which will undergo healing process.

It is some anatomical variation which was normally present or happened after some kind of stretching. As there is no problem, no need of any specific intervention.

Avoiding prone masturbation may help to clear it or even with that it remains there. In any case it is fine. Just relax and enjoy your (masturbation) sexual activity without any concern. If at all there is pain or discharge or any discomfort, then only consultation required.

Feel free to clear your doubts.
