Is Bacterial Vaginosis A Sexually Transmitted Infection?
Question: 4 years ago, i had an affair. I have been 100% faithful since then but my wife recently tested positive for bacterial vaginosis. she does not use douches, no recent sexual contacts besides myself. i can understand her anxiety that i have been unfaithful. I know that the CDC doesn't classify BV as an STD but can you explain why it is not considered an STD and how it is possible for her to have BV [no other obvious risk factors]
Brief Answer:
Is not an STD
Detailed Answer:
Hrllo Sir, Bacterial vaginosis is a common venereal disease which is not an STD and is acquired by various sources like using public toilets, poor personal hygiene common in winter season and even after using contaminated water for bath.
So even if partner is not unfaithful then also anyone can contact this problem.
It has to be treated with antibiotics otherwise it can lead to superadded bacterial infection.
In case you have any questions about it, please feel free to ask.
