Is Black Stool Normal In A Mononucleosis Patient?
Question: I was diagnosed with mono at 31 years old yesterday. I've had all the typical symptoms including lack of hunger and small upset stomach. I recently passed feces and it was very dark but the toilet paper was green (not red or black tar like) is this common during a viral infection like this? I've been eating small things here and there including blueberries.

Dear Sir
Viral illness can be associated with fast intestinal motility and thereby bile excreted unchanged or minimal change in colour. This imparts green colour to stools, there is definitely no cause for concern.
