Is Bleeding From Nose Post Injury A Serious Cause For Concern?
Question: My 2 year old fell on her nose. She didn't have major bleeding but there was blood inside her nose. I applied ice, what else should I do? How do I know if it's broken? Thank you
Brief Answer:
What you did was perfectly right
Detailed Answer:
Hi...I commend you on your presence of mind and the timely first aid.
You need not do anything else. If the bleeding has stopped and the nose is not distorted you need not worry.
A 2 year old's bones will be plaint and so the breakage is not that easy. But if the nose is distorted or looking in a different shape than previous, please take her to an ENT surgeon and only an X-ray can prove the breakage.
