Is Blood In The Urine With Burning Sensations Common With BPH?
It is common to have blood in urine in a patient with Enlarged Prostate
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Based on the facts that you have posted you seem to have Enlarged Prostate with a volume of 120 cc.
In an enlarged prostate, there is increased vascularity of the prostate. It is common for one of the small veins on the surface of the enlarged prostate to burst and bleed giving rise to blood in the urine ( Hematuria).
In most of the cases, this is a transient phenomenon and the ruptured vein seals off within few minutes and bleeding eventually stops of its own.
You need to discuss the modality of treatment with your Urologist.
I would suggest you get enlarged prostate resected by an endoscopic procedure of TURP.
This will help to resolve the obstructive voiding symptoms and hematuria due to an enlarged prostate.
Hope I have answered your query.
Take care
