Brief Answer:
normally not...

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

normally this is not an urgent situation unless you've let your blood sugar that high for days, so dehydration may be an issue or you have serious heart failure, so a high heart rate may cause acute failure. Another concern might be the cause of this high pulse rate.

If you're otherwise healthy then you should just get your blood sugar under control and investigation the cause of the heart rate elevation.

If you didn't know that you have diabetes then you'd better talk to your primary care physician as soon as possible because 307 is too high!

If your pulse is irregular (doesn't tick like regularly like a clock) then you should visit the ER because an arrhythmia is possible. Atrial fibrillation is a common type of arrhythmia that mostly burdens people over 65 years of age and may present with fast heart rate and irregular pulse.

Other tests to do would definitely include the following:
- hematocrit,
- TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone)
- urea and creatinine
- electrolytes

So in conclusion, you should check your pulse looking for an irregular pattern and if present you should visit the ER right away. If you develop any symptom then this would another good reason to do so too.

I hope you find my comments helpful!
Kind Regards!
