Question: Is Borderline Personality Disorder [BPT] a genetic condition? Can it appear among siblings in varying forms? Father with no family history of MH issues. Mother with family history of Major Depressive Disorder, Anxiety and Panic Disorder. ............ ps: ........... lol ... could my email address be any indication?! .....lol

Yes, the heritability of BPD is estimated to be 65%. That means, 65 percent of the variability in symptoms among different individuals with BPD can be explained by genetic differences. Number of twin studies has shown the effect of genes on variability in personality disorders due to the complicating factor of a shared family environment. Borderline personality has been seen among sibling in same family. That could be due to environment or genetic factor. It could come in various form like emotional instability or impulsivity etc. Same could be possible in your family.
