Is Breastfeeding Advisable While On Erythromycin Tablets?
Question: Hi Doc,
My baby will be 3 months old on 25th Jan'17.My wife is unwell with a throat infection..She has taken a erythromycin 250mg tablet.Is it safe to breast feed the baby?

Because of the low levels of erythromycin in breastmilk and since it is safe to administer it directly to infants, it is acceptable for your wife to take erythromycin and breast feed the baby. The small amounts in milk are unlikely to cause adverse effects in the baby and so you need not worry.
