Is Breathlessness Within Five Minutes Of Walking When Diagnosed With GERD And Anxiety Issues A Concern?
Question: is not being able to catch your breath while out walking for 5 minutes normal I'm slightly obese not on the best shape I think it's a heart attack not sure I don't have chest pain I do have gerd and anxiety problems
Brief Answer:
not normal
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
if you're just walking then this is not normal for a young person. Shortness of breath with minimal physical activity may be caused by various disorders. You should absolutely check at least for the following:
- anemia (low hematocrit)
- heart failure
- serious respiratory tract disorder (bronchial asthma, COPD or others)
A low SpO2 (oxygen saturation) should be enough to demonstrate real lack of oxygen in your body. An ultrasound scan of the heart will document heart failure and a simple blood test is enough to diagnose anemia.
I hope you find my comments helpful!
Kind Regards!

I was walking up and down a hill 4 or times
Brief Answer:
it can be normal then
Detailed Answer:
Walking up a hill is not considered to be easy and even fit individuals may have to breath deeper and faster when doing it, particularly when with a fast pace.
If you don't have shortness of breath with regular activities, then this is normal.
Kind Regards!
