Brief Answer:
Safer alternatives are there

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Castor oil should generally be avoided in third trimester of pregnancy, as it can induce diarrhoea and hence can start untimely pain in abdomen.
It only help relieves constipation, however many other safer alternatives are present for this purpose.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
