Surgery is the best option.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting Healthcaremagic!
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.
Cataract is quite common in old age. Surgery is the treatment of choice. You can not read with out the surgical correction.
I suggest you to proceed with surgery at the earliest for best results.
Wishing you good health.
Thanks
