Question: I have 6 month old twin girls on bottle feeding and breast milk combined. Is cerelac better in supplying nutritional requirement or homemade food better, now that we are weaning them? PS: They dont like homemade food at all, havent tried cerelac yet.
Brief Answer:
Both are good but need more

Hi
Thanks for writingto health care magic.
For starting weaning and to provide adequate nutrition home made food and cerelac both are comparable.
But to provide extra micro nutrients you need to give both your twins iron and vitamin supplements atleast for next 6 months.
If your babies dont like homemade food. Do not worry.
Try boiled vegetables and fruits. Cerelac can be given . But keep trying homemade soft foods .
Add a teaspoon of oil or ghee to each food item .
Acceptance may improve over few weeks.
We pediatricians usually recommend trying one new food item for a week before adding another so that taste buds get used to the item. This will prevent food rejection .
So to answer your question , if your babies do not like home food, give cerelac and keep trying homefoods , they may start accepting soon.
And do give iron and vitamins.
Wishing both your kids great health.
