Brief Answer:
may be pleuritic or muscular

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Chest pain can be related to any structure in the chest from the skin inwards. Structures that can cause chest pain include- skin, esophagus, lungs, heart, bones/muscles

Based on your description, the pain may be either muscular pain or pleuritic. The pleura are found along the lining of the lungs. They can become inflamed, this is called pleuritis, the pain can be called pleuritic pain.

If you find that bending or moving in particular directions causes the pain then it may be more muscular but if it is limited to the situations mentioned- laughing, taking a deep breath, running (though this is not typical), then it maybe pleuritic

In many cases, it may be due to a recent viral infection but in some persons ,there are more serious causes.

In many persons, the use of anti inflammatory medications such as naproxen or ibuprofen is enough to relieve the pain.

If it persists or worsens, then you should be seen.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
