Hello!
Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!
I understand your concern and would explain that concentric left ventricular hypertrophy can not be reversed. It is a progressive disorder, but its progression can be delayed and even stopped if risk factors (arterial hypertension) are maintained under control.
I recommend you to closely monitor your blood pressure (values below 130/85 mmHg are recommended).
Some lifestyle modifications:
- A lot of physical activity (Yoga, gym, walking, recreational sports) are recommended. You can go to the gym, because a lot of physical activity is really helpful to maintain a normal blood pressure. I would recommend avoiding only straining physical activity.
- Diet modifications ( reduce salt and caffeine intake, Mediterranean diet would be helpful)
- Lose weight if you are overweight. This will help maintain a normal blood pressure.
- Avoid alcohol intake or smoking.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!
I would explain that there are two types of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy:
- congenital from genetic disorders
- induced by uncontrolled high blood pressure.
I would like to review your cardiac ultrasound reports if you could upload them and also the your genetic tests (or doctor's conclusions), to give a more professional opinion on your clinical situation.
