Brief Answer:
It can be continued if benefits outweigh risk

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Azuran (azathioprine) is considered Class D drug which says that the animal studies have proven to cause teratogenicity in the foetus (that means malformations in the foetus) during pregnancy.
However according to the studies done on over 400 women who were taking Azuran before and during pregnancy (whether planned or accidental pregnancy) had a different result. It was noted on all available information that there is NULL evidence that Azathioprine exposure had congenital malformations, spontaneous abortions, or stillbirth. You should note that the number of reported cases is not sufficient to detect a small increase in risks over the baseline rates in the general population.

If you think the remission is achieved after a prolonged struggle you should take this as benefit and plan for pregnancy. I still suggest it is the talk between your GI specialist, OBGYN and your daughter that should decide if your daughter wants to proceed with pregnancy or not.

All the best.

Brief Answer:
Pentaza can be helpful please ask your doctor

Detailed Answer:
hi,

Since remission is big thing in crohns disease, i would not destabilise that by suggesting alternative medicine. many alternatives may not work. However you can ask about pentaza / mesalazine with your treating doctor.

This is relatively safer during pregnancy.
