Brief Answer:
Some questions when dealing with a cortisol value
Detailed Answer:
Good day,
Noted your question. High cortisol could be due to cushing's syndrome, but also may be due to stress.
What is the unit of cortisol? mcg/dl or mmol ?? . And how was it collected- a morning fasting sample at 8 Am or a random sample? Was it collected after taking dexamethasone tablets on the previous night?
All these questions are relevant when we deal with a cortisol value especially in the setting of an adrenal mass. These are important questions to assess further.
