sperm may live up to 5 days inside the woman's genital tract and the ovum is fertile for only 24 hours. After the 24 hour period no conception can be achieved. So having sex 2 days before your period means that ovulation happened some 12 days earlier. This is far longer than the fertile 24 hour period, so no pregnancy chance exists.
