Is Discontinuing Amlodipine For A While Safe While Treating Meningioma?
Question: my husband, age 79 - surgery removed tumor from brain- may 2016; now taking levetiracetam 500mg 2 x daily, losartan hctz 100mg 1xda, amlodipine 10mg 1xda, fenofibrate 40mg 1xda. / the amlodipine has run out, am unable to acquire it for today's dose - I have Lisinopril 40 mg; also carvedilol 25 mg.....can either be used on a one-time basis in lieu of the amlodipine?
I failed to say that the tumor was a malignant menengioma and was followed with 30 sessions of radiation treatment

Brief Answer:
Supportive care
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking
I read your question and i understand your concern. Amlodipine, losartan, hydrochlorothiazide ,lisinopril, carvedilol all are antihypertensives , if amlodipine is run out, try to get a refill and meanwhile continue using other three antihypertensives you have, aim is to keep the blood pressure under control which is less than 130 systolic and 90 diastolic.
With meningioma surgically removed and followed up with radiations, i hope that it does not recur. Wish you best of luck for that.
I hope it helps. take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
