treatment will depend upon the H. pylori report
Detailed Answer:
Dear
Thanks for contacting Ayurveda with your health concern and following is/are recommended guidelines:
1. One has to be specific in his/her diagnosis regarding your problem since treatment of gastritis (amalpitta), H. pylori and ulcer is different when it comes to decide the medicines/herbs, so do let me know the exact clinical pictures once you get the reports.
PS.
. treatment of gastritis will follow "amalpitta" chikitsa
. treatment of ulcer:
.gastric ulcer will be "anndrava shool" & if duodenal ulcer "parinaam shool" chikitsa will be adopted.
3. Since treatment of ulcer manodaihik (psychosomatic) thus apart from drugs acting on digestive system you will also require nootropics (medhya) drugs.
PS. you have anxiety issues.
4. Till then dietary regime which can be followed in all the said three conditions can be started:
Do's: light digestible diet, old brown rice, barley water, pea soup, parched roasted rice (murmure), banana, coconut, jaggery, fried vada made from black gram, avoid remaining empty stomach, pomegranate, cold milk, shatavri, amla, honey, white gourd melon, green gram.
Avoid: newly harvested rice, chickpea flour, horse gram, potato, brinjal, spices, sesame seeds, curd, salt, day time sleeping, sour items, alcohol, fish, anger, excess mental exertion, mustard oil, late nights.
5. Mix 4 spoon pumpkin juice with 1 spoon sugar candy powder and drink for 1 month or
. eat radish with sugar candy for 1 month
. try to suck a piece of clove for immediate relief.
. banana, cucumber, water melon are natural antacids
. suck 10 gm jaggery everyday (after meals).
. ROTI will be ideal for you.
Do revert back with your concerns.

Dear
Thanks for reverting back.
1. As you rightly mentioned that H.pylori causes gastritis/ulcer but in Ayurveda we are of the view that the etiological factors explained for parinama shula (duodenal ulcer) favours the H. pylori infection and its survival.
PS. I have to know whether H. pylori is the causative agent or these symptoms are independent from it.(so report is must)
2. The pain/discomfort could be due to the increased serum gastrin and HCl level in the stomach (increased pitta {hyperacidity}and decreased kapha {reduced mucosal defense}), so best treatment protocol for you will be:
1. Sutashekhara ras (pittashamaka)
2. Shatavri mandura (kaphavriddhi) and dosage will be decided once you let me know about the H. pylori report.

Both are cause and effect of each other

Thanks for reverting back.
1. Since both the pathologies occur simultaneously i.e. vidagdha pitta (increased HCl/gastritis) will cause epithelial cell injury and thereby decreasing the mucosal defence making it more vulnerable for acid injury and back difusion of hydrogen ions (rasavaha sroto dushti) and this blockage will lead to aggravation of Vata giving rise to shula (pain/ulcer) thus if H. pyolri test comes negative I will start with the before mentioned medicine which will act both on gastritis/ulcer along with addition of nootropic drug and some liquid preparation.

I contacted my Ayurvedic doctor. He told me to do a 3 month course on 1) Aam-Pachan Rasayana Vati 2) Yakrit Rasayanam. He said it will clear all your problems from Esophagus till the rectum. And also will cure any gastritis or ulcer issues. What do you think? Thanks.
I wanted to ask can anxiety and stress cause gastritis or ulcer ? Thanks
remain under regular supervision of attending physician

1. Since choice of medicine differ from physician to physician so he must have told you about the best possible management aspect and it will be your duty to fully comply with the treatment protocol.
2. Aam pachan vati will help if pain is due to indigestion (avipakaj shula) so if starting with it first one has to go for vaman (therapeutic emesis) & XXXXXXX (Appetizer) and then Pachan (Digestive) medicine is given
3. Since Agni (bioenergy) in Ayurveda is considered to be of prime importance in digestion and metabolism and among 13 types of Agni the Jatharagni (bioenergy present in JATHAR (stomach & duodenum) is considered to be the most important and Yakrit or Liver carries the important role of Agni and all disorders arise from the hypofunction of Agni must be borne in mind i.e. Liver is the root cause of all disorders thus Yakrit Rasayan is advocated.

1. Gastritis is just a symptom and not a disease in itself so one has to keep following things in mind:
. Make sure to follow the diet regime as prescribed earlier
. One has to make certain lifestyle modification which helps in formation of AMA like:
. drinking less water
. giving up irregular/unwholesome dietary habits
. regular good sleep
.avoiding suppression of natural urges
.avoiding jealousy,fear,grief,anger
. do not take the next meal unless previous meal is properly digested.
2. Pachan means "to digest" and AMA PACHAN means digestion of Ama (ama is nothing but undigested food which has not undergone proper agni paaka (metabolism) after entering the body thus resulting in ama) so it is important not to indulge in activites which promotes formation of ama.
PS. Ama Pachan Vati has to be taken with hot water (before meals) or as your doctor will advice you..

I am not able to go to toilet, no matter what I eat. I have tried all laxatives in heavy doses but does not seem to work. They work in the sense that I just pass some liquid stools. My stomach has come out 4-5 inches. Its just gas. What do I do ? The English medicines just do not work.
I did not eat anything after lunch yesterday.I am afraid of eating anything now. I do not know what has happened to me.
Possible adverse affect of laxatives

Thanks for reverting back
1. It seems that aggressive use of laxatives has resulted in bloating and abdominal discomfort thus:
. Avoid: black gram,potato,banana,fast food-spicy food,peas.
. First fasting is must then take tablet Herbolax 2 at bed time daily
. Tablet Gasex 2 thrice daily (after meals)
. Abhyarishta 15 ml with equal amount.of water (after meal, at night)
. suck on jaiphal soaked in lemon juice
. taking 1 tablespoon of concentrated apple juice helps tremendously
. purgation with olive oil is free from side effects you can use it regularly.
. rubbing castor oil over stomach also helps in relieving constipation.
