Is Elevated Alkaline Phosphatase Level A Cause For Concern?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
need some further details as well as evaluation regarding...
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Well, first of all, please note that there are numerous causes of such elevated alkaline phosphatase. Considering his age, it could be due to the liver (liver enzymes can be normal but that's not confirmatory) or bone related (could be due to long-standing softening of bones, any recent fractures, calcium and Vit D deficiency to name a few).
Apart from these, there are several other possible causes of other organ systems also.
For proper evaluation, he should be ideally checked up by a Physician clinically as a part of the primary evaluation.
You may attach the complete yearly health check-up reports here to the Report-Section as a follow-up to this so that I can go through them in details to suggest further...
Along with, please also let me know:
Is he taking any medications for any particular reason? If yes, please specify them too.
Was GGT (Gamma Glutamyl Transferase) done along with Liver function test? If not, then please get it done too.
Was there any significant past medical/surgical history?
Any history of arthritis/fractures?
Any other complaints?
Kindly revert with the details.
Take Care
Regards
