Is Excessive Sleepiness And Dizziness Normal For A Diabetic Person?
This situation requires Emergent Hospital Care
Detailed Answer:
Hello, thanks for coming to HealthCareMagic.
Given your mothers history and age, she is at risk for Diabetic Keto-Acidosis (DKA). This is a serious situation where the chemistry of the blood is altered. It's caused by those excessively high sugar levels and natural normal chemical processes stop occurring.
This needs to be dealt with in the emergency room where her blood sugar can be monitored on a minute to minute basis while they infuse insulin slowly.
Now. I don't want to scare you, I just want to inform you of the risk. Not everyone goes into DKA at a sugar of 355.
You shouldn't take the risk. Take her to the ER and have her checked out as soon as you can. That's the best course of action here.
I hope this helps, let me know how I can clear things up. But don't delay, get her to the ER.

I don't think you should be waiting. There's no safe way to deal with this at home.
Safety sake, take her to the ER
