Is Fasting Required Before A Blood Test During Pregnancy?

Question: does eating beforehand affect a blood test for pregnancy? took a blood test last week and they called me back today and said fasting would give them better hormone count results. is that what that means?
Brief Answer:
no
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to HCM.
Fasting may effect some hormones such as insulin, estrogen or cortisol.
However, it will not affect beta hcg which is the hormonal marker of pregnancy so pregnancy would be detected if there is one.
Let me know if you've any further queries
Wish you good health.
