Is Femoroacetabular Impingement A Type Of Arthritis?

FAI can cause arthritis.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) is a condition in which extra bone grows along one or both of the bones that form the hip joint — giving the bones an irregular shape. Because they do not fit together perfectly, the bones rub against each other during movement. Over time this friction can damage the joint, causing pain and limiting activity.
It occurs because the hip bones do not form normally during the childhood growing years. It by itself is not any kind of arthritis or a result of arthritis. Gradually when the problem increases it can result in arthritis - osteoarthritis of the hip joint.
I hope this answers your query.

Hip brace can help.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
To improve the mobility, hip brace and local steroid injections can help. Taking joint lubricant supplements like Glucosamine will also help. Hip replacement can be considered in case the pain is unbearable.
Hope my answer is helpful.

Brief Answer:
Brace is best option.
Detailed Answer:
Considering your other health problems, using a hip brace is a safe option. There are different braces available to limit the hip mobility and the one best suitable for you can be chosen by your orthopedician after a direct examination. Bledsoe brace is commonly used in this condition.
You also need to continue with the physical therapy to strengthen the muscles around the hip.
Regards.
