Is Fertility Monitor Is A Good Means To Confirm Ovulation?

1. Ovulate
2. Release an egg
3. Should I conceive naturally
Many thanks
I was investigated in 2009 due to pain in my lower area, hence the attached Ultrasound Scan.
I had bleeding problems in 2011/2012, hence the letter attached which was due to stress of my Nana passing away and everything is now back to normal. I have attached the Ultrasound Scan Report, everything is back to normal now and has been for 12 months. My Day 3 FSH was 4.2.
I got married in July 2012 and we decided we wanted to try for a baby. We have never been consistent with intercourse apart from the last 2 months where I am using a Clearblue Fertility Monitor. I thought I was not ovulating hence I bought the fertility monitor. This does show that I am ovulating.
I really want to conceive naturally, do you really see this can happen for us? I am overweight but have lost 2 stone, so currently still overweight but trying. My husband has cut down from 30 cigarettes a day to 10 cigarettes and drinks within the alcoholic guidelines other than a Saturday.
I have seen a Gynaecologist who sees no problems in me conceiving and says I have a good egg reserve for my age. I have attached some reports to help you answer my questions. My Gynaecologist says I do not have PCO as my blood work is all good. My own GP is also not concerned. I am going to bed every night crying thinking I will never conceive naturally.
Please don’t ask my partner to have a semen analysis done as he doesn’t want this and says if it is meant to be it will happen naturally. Can I have an infertility check to see if I am in working order without my husband attending?
I have a regular bleeding pattern 24-28 day cycles. Never have pain or any kind of problem. I have attached my bleeding chart.
At the end of the day all I want is to be a MUM, do you please see this possible my reports and see it can happen naturally?
I can’t afford anything privately it will have to be on NHS my own GP won’t refer me as he thinks I am panicking over nothing.
1. Do you agree the fertility monitor is a good diagnosis for ovulating?
2. Do you see I can conceive naturally?
3. Can I have a infertility check for myself and if so how do I go about this?
4. Any suggestions please to help me achieve what I really want.
5. Am I stressing out too much?
Hi,
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
Before answering your questions I have to say that please do not take so much stress that is very harmful to you.
1) yes! fertility monitor is good indicator that you are ovulating.
In your case it is showing three bars means you are highly fertile and ovulating.
If you are trying in those days chances of pregnancy are very high.
2) Yes! your reports seems to be normal so you can conceive naturally.
3) In my opinion you should not go for any infertility clinic.
First you should try naturally for 1 year, after one year only you should go to any infertility clinic.
Most important is you both have to go to infertility clinic because problem may be in your husband also.
But as you already said he is not willing to go anywhere and not interested in semen analysis then why you are going alone.
4) First of all please do not get so much stress.
Take folic acid tablet daily and vitamin supplement.
Reduce your weight.
You can take arginine after consulting your doctor.
Take healthy diet, do some meditation and yoga.
5) Yes! please do not stress so much, it will affect your fertility.
Believe in god!
Everything will be fine.
Hope for the best.
Try maximum in your most fertile days.
I think I have answered your query if you have further questions I will be happy to help you.
Good luck.
Regards
Dr. Richa

Do you see I have PCO or do you see all be fine.
Thanks you so much
Hi, nice to see you.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Nice to see you.
I have seen your report, in my opinion PCOS diagnosis based on three things-
1) Oligo or anovulation
2) Hyperandrogenism( based on clinical and biochemical method)
3) Polycystic ovaries( based on ultrasonography )
In your case some symptoms are present which indicate PCOS and other are not present, so whether you are having PCOS or not it is not 100% rule out.
You have to go for some lab test for it.
But in my opinion you should not go for further testing because you can conceive with PCOS also.
So now onward leave everything on almighty and try for the best.
Wish you luck.
You will definitely conceive.
Be hopeful.
Good luck.

Dr. Richa

I had spotting day 13 and 14 and ovulated day 17
Can I still be pregnant
Yes!
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
How are you?
Nice to see you again.
If you ovulate on day 17 th then chances of conception are after that.
You should wait for another 3-4 days and repeat pregnancy test or you can go for blood test for beta- HCG.
Hope this will help you.
Please feel free to discuss more, I feel happy to help you.
Good luck.

Dr. Richa

No it is due to ovulation bleeding.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Nice to see you.
It can be due to ovulation bleeding.
It is also a good sign of fertility.
Implantation bleeding only occurs 6-7 days after ovulation.
Yes! chances of pregnancy are not 100% rule out.
Good luck.

Dr. Richa

You can test on 7-9 September.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Nice to listen from you.
You should go for repeat pregnancy test on 7-9 September.
If test results are negative then please go for pelvic ultrasound to rule out the cause of delayed period.
It can be due to hormonal imbalance because you are having PCOS also.
Think positive, may be you are pregnant.
Just do your test and then let me know your results.
Wish you a very good luck for your future.
Regards
Dr. Richa

If Clearblue fertility monitor shows ovulation hence 3 bars earlier in my cycle do I have to worry that I don't ovulate with pcos though my gynaecologist says I don't have pcos.Day 3 FSH 4.2 is this normal
It is just spotting when I wipe no need for a towel. Are you sure I can conceive naturally it worries me as I 39 in October
Yes! You can conceive naturally.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Nice to listen from you.
It can be both sign of pregnancy or your period.
Can you please go for blood test for beta - HCG. and pelvic ultrasound.
Three bars means you are ovulating properly.
Your FSH value is normal.
I can understand your situation but believe me you can conceive naturally till you are menstruating.
Please do not take so much stress.
Wish you a very good luck.
Feel free to discuss more.
Good luck.
Regards
Dr. Richa
