Question: Hi,

I will be traveling with my Kid of 5 months old in flight. Is there any precaution which I should take? I have heard that airplane sound/ or pressure can cause some problem to baby's ear.

Brief Answer:
Pressure changes can be managed by feeding...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Air pressure changes during take off and landing can be managed by breast feeding the child or sucking on a pacifier. This will not be a serious concern.

However, there are other concerns which you should be prepared to handle:
1. If this is the first travel, it will be difficult to assess how your child will take it. Be prepared to take some play toys in the cabin if the crew allows you to take it.
2. Be prepared to feed the child and change diapers especially if mother isn't travelling along.
3. Some flights may not allow the child to be seated on your lap. Please confirm with your travel operator. They will allow the use of harness like a car seat harness.
4. Make sure your child is healthy before the travel. If the child is suffering with an illness, make sure you take permission from a pediatrician.

These are few measures / precautions which I suggest before travelling with your kid.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need clarifications.

Regards
