Is Frequent Urination After A Catheter Removal Normal?

Question: My 83 mother had catheter for a week and had it removed yesterday. She is oeeing frequently tiday. She also has a stimulator for a sluggish bladder. Is the peeing normal and can she get dehydrated

I have read your query and understand your concern.
This problem of frequent peeing could be due to urine infection.
Such types of urine infection are much more common after a catheter insertion.
I would advise you to get the urinalysis along with a urine culture done.
In case infection is found,then antibiotic course can be instituted according to the culture report.
She would definitely need to be hydrated properly as frequent urination can dehydrate her.
I would advise you to consult your treating doctor and discuss with him on above lines.
