Is Frequent Urination Symptom An STD?

default
Posted on Tue, 25 Nov 2014
Question: I gave a handjob 5 weeks ago, and some semen got on my lips. I was not touched. There was no oral sex. At 30 days I got all the tests. I have had hsv1 since I was a kid. But the IGG number came back at 39.90 About 2 years ago it was at 6 something. HSV2 was negative. I have been peeing more frequently but my doc says its probly due to my high BP. (And my stomach has been bothering me a little) If that 39 number is correct, could that be off the charts because of an hsv2 infection that just isn't showing up ? or is there no relation? Im freaking out and stressed. No outbreaks of any kind anywhere.

Brief Answer:
no relation between hsv1 and 2 igg.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for query. I am Dr Bharatesh D Basti answering your query.

Stomach pain can be due to gastritis. Excess urination can be due to hypertension or check for diabetes.

Igg Antibody variations can occur. You need not worry much about it. One type virus hsv1 cannot change to hsv2 unless you are exposed to hsv2 again. So allay fears of relation between the two.

As there are no lesions, do not get anxious. Follow all precautions.

You can get back for any clarification.

I was told the test I took "HerpeSelect IgG type specific antibody testing (ELISA)" was 97% accurate after 30 days. Is that correct? I thought maybe the hsv2 was I my system but not showing up yet, and because it was in there it was spiking the hsv1 number. (39 is way off the chart) But you are saying that is NOT possible?

Brief Answer:
It detects hsv1 & 2 antibodies separately.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for follow up query.

Herpselect detects IgG for hsv1 & 2 separately. So there is no question of overlap of hsv1&2. The value is high means antibodies is more and not viral load.
So hsv2 cannot change itself to 1 or vice-versa.
The test is sensitive and specific for 90 - 98%.
